      Pros

      You get an opertunity to see and learn about all the shiny toys from vendors.

      Cons

      Any word from the vendors is considered as gospel. Cross teams have no advance skills on troubleshooting their own systems, relying on pointing fingers at others in order to buy time. A director has singlehandlly ran off more qualified technicians in order to hire his "yes" team. IT budget is money spent on vendor poor recommendation.
