Pros
Great travel benefits, was able to join many different ships with different itineraries Onboard staff given more freedom than on most lines (guest area access, room service, liquor available and not just beer/wine, house accounts although I'm pretty sure those are gone now, etc) Staff pay was better in most cases than on other lines
Cons
Hours are nuts, but this is ship life. You come onboard knowing life will be different for many months. As a manager, you are dealing with constant conflicts between what corporate wants and what the ship management wants. It can be difficult to navigate without angering one or the other.
