Cons
Many years ago Hilti was truly a ‘great place to work’, however now it seems they just pay a bribe for this award. It is essentially a cult, if you dare have a differing opinion on the future of the business strategy - well you’re just negative…despite being constructive in criticism. Management has grown so out of touch with all of us ‘minions’, expecting stupidly unachievable targets that do not drive sales but instead tick a box for their marketing department. My guess is that this is so they can reduce the sales force but still have all the customers data and permissions to send targeted offers etc. Management also love to try and sugarcoat very silly changes that are counterproductive to your everyday life as a salesperson. Hilti boast how they ‘promote within’ and you have great opportunities to move up the ranks in the business. Please be aware, this only applies if you are (this list is not exhaustive); a female, person of ethnic minority, from Hilti in another country, frequent LinkedIn poster or if you lick the ring piece of management… the list is endless. Ultimately, it is no longer the same company that it once was and I think any longstanding employees feel this way but are too afraid to speak out in fear of losing employment in a difficult job market. Their customers have definitely experienced the decline in service and yet prices continue to rise to absurd levels.
