Pros
Fair compensation, very stable long-term, and some interesting benefits (in particular flexible working conditions, working from home). Depending on the department and team you're in, you might have a very positive working environment. In others, such as the marketing team in some Business Units, the working hours could be too long...that varies.
Cons
If you're under 35 and you have worked (even for a few months) in a large management consulting firm, your career is secure. But if you don't happen to have worked for BCG, McKinsey or Bain, no matter what your background, expertise, or years of experience in the firm are, etc, you're close to worthless. You will have NO career potential whatsoever, and you'll be lucky to have a chance at a team leadership position. But that's rare. Just when you become an interesting candidate for other companies, Hilti's management has decided that after 35 or 40 years of age you're already old and of no use. You'll be stuck in your position until they see you as stagnating and lacking drive (like I've seen happen too often already). You may be let go, or delegated to a lesser position until you decide to leave.
