Pros
The pay is bigger for critical shortage areas than other counties.
Cons
Horrible management, terrible leadership, teachers complain about you to your superior as opposed to speaking to you, mentorship is shotty, district will move you around to different schools without notifying you ( you would find out through the grapevine of 3-5 people who have nothing to do with your job). You aren't treated fairly, and there are no policies, protocols, or procedures written down to explain what your job entails. The training at the start of your new position is laughable and there is no real guidance when a problem arises. Management/supervisors do not return your calls or address your concerns until your evaluation. This is the worst district I have ever worked for compared to the several districts I've worked for in the past.
