Pros

Mission driven work and helping the community.

Cons

CEO and management communicate in a very hostile way to each other and also to employees. Management talks poorly of CEO making for a toxic work environment. Seems that Habitat is more focused on production and less focused on helping out the community. Will not help answer family questions when families want to apply for program, but will pull a credit check just to deny families rather than answering families original questions on if they qualify. This in turn hurts families credit scores. Help the community by communicating qualifications to the program in an accessible and clear way. This cannot be done because of purposeful understaffing.

Pros

Was a AmeriCorps VISTA that launched my federal career. Amazing experience! Enjoyed every single day.

Cons

None, was an opportunity that I was fortunate to have found.

Pros

In the beginning there was a big sense of family and being there for each other. There were also nice perks and benefits. Good healthcare.

Cons

Extremely low morale, LOW pay, and high pressure to sell despite lack of good inventory. Lots of favoritism and bad-mouthing certain employees and volunteers behind their backs. Allowing certain associates to take multiple hour breaks despite it being against the rules. Little incentives from upper management to do a good job. Upper management seems to constantly see the bad in things and not what you're doing well.
