Pros

Colleagues are all young, which means you’ll have nice lunches and shared trauma

Cons

Where do I begin? Every year the company will have varying degrees of “transformation” or “regionalisation”. That is code words for retrenchment/restructuring. Depending on whether they’re combining regions or creating new regions, there might be good opportunities or not. More often than not, they’ll open up jobs for people to apply. Anyone can apply (even if you’re from Store team) so I think that is a plus for upward mobility opportunities. However can you imagine doing this once a year? Company in totality lacks direction. When they make changes they want immediate results. But any seasoned leader will know that with big MNC like H&M, changes do not take place overnight. Results take time to trickle down. The moment they don’t see results in a few months or a year, they will “act learn and adapt” and then do another round of transformation. How does an employee feel secure and have a safe space to grow? Oh and let’s not even begin with the annual employee survey where they will Choose to hear some feedback and ignore the others. Consistent patting themselves on the back. They’re very slow in the way they approach industry trends. Uniqlo and Zara are leaps and bounds ahead in retail Tech and digitalisation. Even if you prove your loyalty to the company and stay for 10 years or more, you won’t get opportunities to grow, or perhaps you’ll be stuck in the endless transformation cycle. Keep reapplying for your same job, same indecision from the management.

Cons

managers could either be nitpicky, or don't help at all company management was even pickier i worked there for four years; by the time i left, the company had changed so many policies that did not make it easier for the worker work/life balance was hard, especially during holidays or summer
