Pros

Broad learning experience at this firm. You aren’t limited to working on a specific visa type like Fragomen or other similar operations. You get a full hour lunch unlike the 30 minute lunch some places offer. PTO is currently 3 weeks not including the 2 personal days, plus sick days. They just added maternity leave for staff about a year ago and it’s the bare minimum.

Cons

The biggest issue is the law firm has a top down negative view on internal promotions and the creation of new positions. They are part of the problem for keeping staff on because they make it difficult to retain employees and reward those that stay. The benefits for maternity leave are the bare minimum. New hire attorneys receive no training on what our systems are like or internal practice group policies making it fall on the paralegals to explain “we don’t do that here”. Training for new hire staff is also inconsistent on how to use internal IT systems efficiently.

Pros

Flexibility in day to day schedule

Cons

The firm about faced on its core value of “Diversity is in our DNA”. Compensation is below industry for staff as the firm works to save every dollar for the partners but under pay staff. Further, the emails from the firms “executive chairman” show a lack of emotional intelligence as many of them are tone deaf to the circumstances of the day. The firm has clearly taken a shift from its socially liberal roots becoming more and more MAGA in nature.
