Pros

The remuneration package and roster schedule may appear attractive on the surface, but these benefits do not compensate for the deeply flawed and toxic workplace environment.

Cons

My experience at McArthur River Mine was defined by a pervasive culture of bullying and harassment, particularly from individuals within the HR and Projects teams. Despite multiple attempts to seek resolution through official channels, my complaints were consistently ignored, and no meaningful action was ever taken. The HR department, which should be a safe avenue for employees, appeared to be part of the problem rather than the solution. There was a clear pattern of protecting certain individuals and dismissing legitimate concerns, which fostered an environment where discrimination and mistreatment were allowed to continue without consequence. The feeling was that if you were not part of the "in-group," you were left unsupported and vulnerable. This constant state of stress and anxiety has led to severe and lasting psychological issues that I am still dealing with to this day. The lack of support is not just at a team level; it feels systemic, with senior management and the CEO completely disconnected from the well-being of their employees on the ground.
