Pros
Gilbarco/Danaher has a very strong focus on lean manufacturing. They are relentless at setting aggressive goals and meeting them. There is a strong discipline around problem solving and daily management that helps keep people focused on achieving the goals of the organization.
Cons
The organization is very political...to a major fault. The politics create a culture of "Bus drivers" and people throwing people under those buses. Often the goals create major conflicts between departments which actually drives waste into the overall system (opposite of lean). Too short term focused (month/quarter) with regard to finances which doesn't allow people to implement the long-term strategies that will will really make the difference when it comes to quality and customer satisfaction.
