Pros

There is a lot of flexibility in terms of work schedule, a wide variety of projects to work on, great benefits, and overall it's an exciting environment.

Cons

Pay is very much on the low end of the scale, career growth opportunities must be created by the individual (in my experience management focuses heavily on career development of teaching faculty and less on research faculty). On the flip side opportunities for taking classes to get an additional degree abound if the employee is willing to take the initiative.

Pros

- Free Housing - Meal Plan - One of the better on campus job for students in my opinion (still able to be involved in other activities as a student on campus)

Cons

- Duty part of the job (Being on call and getting late night lock outs but this is rare), and definitely can still do homework in between doing duty rounds - experience can also depend on your hall director / area (but regardless still served on great RA teams, can be great if you have a co-ra but also been good at time being a single RA on the floor (no need to coordinate schedule if you do events together as a single RA unless you alternate events with your co)
