Pros
There was a definite tight-knit feel to the company. It went beyond just an employee/employer relationship and made coming to work much more enjoyable and rewarding.
Cons
Due to the nature of the business often times company size was directly based on contracts won. As the contracts come and go so do some people. Sometimes really great employees were lost this way.
