It's no wonder they keep getting busted for child labor; Gap hates its employees. - Sales Associate Gap Employee Review

Pros

If you need some new clothes, you get a pretty good discount, especially if working at Banana Republic.

Cons

The entire culture of Gap Inc. is one of denial. The product is never bad, it only matters how the employees perform. The management doesn't have many multi-level and useless stages, the workers on the line need to be more efficient. When Gap was revealed to have employed child labor (again), not one word was mentioned to the floor employees. In a mid-size gap store, almost 50% of the staff is a manager or lead of some kind, each at differing levels, and few do much "real" work. Days off are extremely hard to get, no matter the reason, and trying to move from a store to corporate position is unheard of. Loyalty is meaningless; one could show up early every shift every day for years, but they are given the same consequences for missing a shift as someone who calls out of work every other shift. Calling out is too easy, and as a result an excessive amount of "on-call" shifts are assigned to floor workers.

Pros

Hourly rate is decent and pays weekly

Cons

Managers think they are above everyone even when they have as much potential as a goldfish in life. We are pushed to get customers to sign up for a store credit card which is one of the worst credit cards I’ve seen. Your worth at this company is dependent on how many credit cards you can get which is so dehumanizing. Horrible culture and company to work for.
