Pros
I worked as a part-time Sales Associate at GAP for about one year. The co-workers, management, and the environment in the store was overall very pleasant at the location I worked at. They should definitely keep this kind of work ethic and culture.
Cons
For the location I worked for anyway, not to judge the entire company, I recieved very little to no hours as my time working at the store "progressed". I was hired for what was supposed to be a part-time, permanent position. At the beginning, it seemed normal as I averaged around 20 hours/week. However, as time went by, I would get one shift every couple of weeks. Then it got worse and I didn't receive any shift in months. I wasn't a bad employee, and I did what was asked of me, so I have no idea what happened. Since they didn't give me a single shift in months, they have a policy where they terminated me after not working for months. The reason for this lack of shifts is because of overstaffing and overhiring, which was apparent at my location. They also did not provide proper training, as it seemed like all the new hires were just "thrown into the situation" and you kind of had to learn on your own through observation and sometimes asking management for help. In terms of wage, it was very basic at minimum wage and they don't give any or very little, if any, raises.
