Horrible, horrible management - Research Manager GLG Employee Review

Pros

Only colleagues, but NOT management.

Cons

GLG has an incredible gift of making you feel like you are worth nothing. They are great at promising great things for your future, but at the end they are only saying what you want to hear to make sure you stay. If you ever question anything the London management team is doing or if you ever raise concerns regarding your job, you will be put aside and considered a "trouble maker", which means that there is zero room for employees to speak up about issues they face and even less room for them to speak openly to the senior team leaders. For those who have the courage to leave (and it does take courage because GLG will completely break your spirit and destroy your self confidence), they realize at the next company what they are really worth, which is a lot more than what GLG has you believe. That is in terms of salary and job responsibilities. Be prepared to become a robot if you decide to leave GLG - to not be able to speak up, share your opinion or make suggestions. Or you will be punished.

Pros

Amazing people - lots of reviews say that because it's true. You'll work with smart, genuine, hard working humans. Good benefits and perks. Interesting events and opportunities to learn. Overall, a good place to start your career!

Cons

Very fast-paced environment which definitely isn't for everyone. Lots of necessary change.

Pros

People at the peer level are great and you learn about some interesting industries

Cons

This is the worst place I have ever worked. Management does not care about you. They put on a front, but push and push and ask for more no matter how hard you work. You can be a top performer, but if you leave on time to go home they're not happy. It's never enough and the work never ends. It's just not worth it.
