GE selects people who will fit their culture, and the culture is very friendly and supportive. I have always felt like I was working in an office full of friends
GE has challenging positions for new graduates, especially the CAS (corporate audit staff) program. It requires a lot of hard work, but it is worth it.
Cons
GE has lost middle level talent in the last 5-7 years. Management is very old-school, but the times have changed. Technology is not properly used, there are mini-systems in every department which are not linked to any other system. Excel and powerpoint are still the main tools. The decrease in share price is reflected in reduced investment in people, systems and development.
