Pros
Would have been a really cool opportunity to teach English, travel, and represent the United States as a cultural ambassador, but I was evacuated after 5 weeks into my 2020 Fulbright due to the Covid pandemic.
Cons
The commission was clearly overburdened with work, and therefore offered little support or guidance to individual grant recipients. The evacuation was a very traumatic experience and even months after my Fulbright grant was terminated early, my cohort was struggling to get forward communication and our deserved benefits from the commission. I am sure the program is wonderful, but the 2020 cycle was just really poorly handled.
