Pros
Good place to learn about market research and consulting services Good place to network with players in the industries. Good place to interact with management level personal to understand the problems they face
Cons
Alot of internal war to fight especially when most of the analyst are based else where (mostly in india). Do not pay attention to the feedback of the customers on their needs and keep pushing to sell their report subscription like a one size fits all solution. There are no processes in place and each business unit does things very differently The research team has no sense of urgency in producing reports on time and expect customer to wait Analyst are not industrial experts and have little experience in the industry they cover. The research are often done by interns and coverage are very surface. Inflexible and staff movement are constantly being monitored by the management. If you don't tap your access card when enter or leave office, HR will send "reminder" It looks like an MNC on the surface but runs like an Small Medium Enterprise There are alot of internal conflicts between different regional office due to unstructured allocated of targeted customers Sales force is very much like telesales staff who perform cold calling in the office and there is very limited customer base so its a very much a desk bound job. Job description in advertisement do not match with actual job Turn over of staff is extremely high for the sales team. Traveling is very limited and controlled. The top management will brag about their achievement and growth but when it comes to profit sharing and bonuses, they will pretend the issue does not exist and brush it under the carpet. Product is hard to sell and sales cycle is long. Probation is six months and during the first 3 months, no benefits entitlement (no leave given, cant claim medical bill, leave are taken as unpaid leave) Benefits are very poor and pathetic.
