Pros

Free lunch and work shuttle. Thats all you get as a outsource which %90 of chance you will be. (If you are a programmer)

Cons

I am writing this review in English so maybe a couple of programmers in this country know what they are dealing with. I doubt we will get any foreigner programmers here. Don't let the positive reviews fool you by the way. Those are from HR or something like that. They are there to push negative one like mine. Look at their dates to confirm it. After I write mine there will be a burst of postivie ones to push mine down. Only company I have seen in Turkey where people talked about how much they hated their current company out in the open/how they want to quit (This is a huge shock for me I worked with/in many large companies during my career) I worked here for more than two years and seen their main agile project got delayed more than a couple of times. It supposed to be finished on 2018 December. Its still going on as I write this review(Its currently 2019 November). 1-They literally have a 20 year old IT infrastructure they are too ashamed to advertise it. If this gets out on a larger scale people will know that they havent invested in their company for 2 decades. Its a company wide PL/SQL system which makes no-sense. There is no OOP programming PL/SQL and with that they don't use any Version Source Control for this gigantic crumbling system. Even with that you can see how its a bad place to work for. They don't even wanna use Git version control. Which is free ! They bring people here on false promises and misleading job qualifications. They tell people that they will be working on C# systems and so forth. Experienced programmers have choices. So these people come in and realize that they will be programming %90 on PLSQL and they immediately flee. You can guess that this is a huge morale breaker. Your team members keep coming and going every 3-4 months. This is across the board by the way. Not my team. They had years to change the system and decided against it for some reason. Couple of times I asked comments I got were "Its company policy and its secure". I genuinely don't know whats wrong with their IT side. 2-People are so ill informed of the working conditions when they are brought here that one of the team mates we got even didn't know about 10 hour work days. Mind you this person wasn't some below average developer. He immediately started to look for a job and left for a another big company where they are what they claim to be. He knew about PL/SQL and C# technologies but they told him that. He would be working on newer version of C# systems. We are working on MVC and webforms. These technologies are more than 8-15 years old. They posioned the local tech scene against themselves. They are supposedly a big company but they never invested their IT systems and here they are barely finding a programmmer to work for themselves. After all these experienved people quit, They can't find anyone to work for themselves as a result. They keep hiring new grads. Which leads to more delays and more spaghetti code. Because they dont' care about IT. They dont care about IT workers. Their ancient test systems and deployment systems are nearly %100 manual. You wanna create test data ? You do everything manually. You copy things from production or you enter those values by hand. No testing framework or nothing like that for PL/SQL. You spend more time testing your stuff than actually coding it. Eventually you burn out and don't even bother with coding. You just release it and see if it explodes. Apathy towards your work is beyond belief. This is not personal statement folks. I had a chance to listen more than 40 people here, this companies lack of care for its work is something. (More than 40 people but I can't remember how many people quit this project) They can buy a system that helps with that from Oracle but I am guessing its too much of a convenience and a handy thing for your developers. Deployment is a another nightmare. In the age of CI/CD, their developers and all of their Sys admin and DBA's probably spends hours and hours just deploying stuff. They love wasting money and peoples time. You wanna deploy something ? This is how it goes. You need to remember all the files you worked on. You save these files to your hard drive and set them aside for deployment. After attaching these tickets and getting the require approvals. You can't change them after attachment. These are just files on a support ticket. Schedule a time again manually get these deployed. No human beings ? No deployment. You are more of a clerk than a programmer here. This file/human tracking is so much of a wasted time and they are somehow fine with it. Its just mind boggling. Humans are so cheap and disposable in this company. Its repulsive. 3-Nearly every programmer who works here is outsourced to a different tech company. There is a main company they work with it but you are outsourced to that one too. You work with PL/SQL a outdated and irrelevant programming language. You don't learn anything here. As a result If you wanna move onto a different company good luck. You won't find any. Everybody does OOP and work with a technology made in this decade. PLSQL is neither of those. Ford hates programmers and technology people with a passion. Systems they put in to place only shows that and nothing else. 4-Looking at third point I wrote. You would think that Its related to many fields. You would be wrong. Ford has this fascination with Product Owners and Business Analysts. They love hiring them to their main company. These people do email work and nothing else. They don't code and they don't design. They don't know underlying systems at all. So they are essentially worthless. Remember I wrote their project got delayed 3-4 times ? Remmber how I wrote tons of programmers quit ? Instead of preventing this by paying above market grades and caring abut their employees by showing that they have a place with them and they care about their future, they keep hiring email people. They love talking about Agile process and agile changes what not. Underneath all that how they do coding doesn't change at all. Its just all for show. These email people (which I met most of them). They don't have programmer background. They have technical degrees (industry engineer or some garbege tier degree like that nothing specialized)but since the beginning of their career most of them worked at Ford and just did email work. So they contribute to project by sending emails and doing nothing else. As a result project goes nowhere with their efforts. They keep wondering why their projects got delayed like more than a year and half. Being a outsource employee I never cared about joining them after I realized how much they hated their programmers. Did having Ford on my CV opened doors for me ? Oh no. Nobody cares about this dying company. If it wasn't for government subsidies they can barely pay their actual car making engineers. Its a paper tiger. 5-You are asking about now "Why did you write all of this stuff If you know maybe no programmer will read it from Turkey ?". If I can help 3-4 guys avoid the same troubles I went through that would be enough for me. This tiny small review won't hurt Ford in any shape or form. Even though its slowly bleeding out from thousand cuts. Its still a huge company but Its a Turkish company that plays by Turkish economic rules. So Its still easy to break it down with a good old economic recession. Lets go back to you,the programmer reading this review. After all reading this if you still wanna join Ford Turkey know this. You will feel that you are a second class citizen at all times. People who contribute absolutely nothing to projects will get better working conditions than you and you will be a another disposable cog. Others are too but at least they don't let them know it this obviously. Please take my words seriously. If you are not really desperate for a job. Avoid Ford-Otosan at all costs. It will cost you more than 50 hours a week of work because you will learn absolutely nothing they will teach you absolutely nothing. You will be all on your own. There will be no experienced developers to teach you anything at all. Good luck if you wanna join,I wish you the very best and I understand your situation very well. I was once there too.
