Pros

Salary is good compared to the other companies.

Cons

Top management of Civil Structural has no management capability. They only praises those who oils him. When someone give resignation, they often calls his/her wife or husband or friends of Fluor and ask them which company is he switching? . Off Friday and Saturdays are just on paper. You will not be judged by your work, you will be judged whether you come office on off Fridays and Saturdays or not, you will be judged whether you are staying late or not. You have to oiling your lead, your manager otherwise you will not get increment, promotion and other benefits. Your work life balance will be zero. Your salary may be less than 3 years junior of yours, because he is oiling , but you are not. Last year, 4 people died due to huge stress. Think how bad work culture is there.

Pros

Good for starting and ending a career in engineering — solid training and plenty of software available. Good benefits and WLB.

Cons

Most projects are PreFEED, so lots of generic work, and they tend to overhire for these projects. It’s hard to make it to the middle ranks here because of the overhiring and layoff on contract loss cycle. The 980 schedule is actually meant to be a 10-hr day, as they began to emphasize the importance of taking lunch. TOWP and sick days are lumped together and earned on an accrued basis, so vacation days are valuable in the beginning. You can be paid your vacation days at the end, too, when your salary is higher… the consequence is that people come in sick all the time.
