Pros

Great exposure with top level management meetings at issuers. Steep learning curve and early entrusted responsibilities can make it challenging at the start but also affords good learning opportunities and opportunities to develop. Relaxed working environment with very flat org structure allows for good interaction with managers. Culture is very supportive and everyone is happy to help answer questions (asking questions is key as training is somewhat insufficiently tailored to the day-to-day workflow). Committees have very flat structures which allows great opportunities for analysts at all levels to voice their opinions and contribute at an early stage. This is often encouraged. Great access to a wide range of analysis and research on Fitch's wide-ranging coverage. Rating cycles allow for ease of planning the work-year and good amount of predictability of when workflow will be intense.

Cons

IT systems feel antiquated and are a constant source of annoyance to the daily workflow. Compensation lags the market and disadvantages staff who stay within the firm over the years, compared to staff who move out of Fitch and return, or transfer in from outside Fitch.
