Pros
Health benefits are pretty good and the cafeteria is subsidized
Cons
- You will also not learn anything that will allow you to be competitive in the market place. The people with specialized functions stay forever because it makes sense and everyone else has to stay because the jobs don’t make you competitive for where the rest of the market is going. This isn't a good place to be if you are starting your career. - The company doesn’t pay for expenses upfront if you travel. They give you a corporate credit card but you have to use your own money to pay for the credit card charges and they will pay you back months later. This allows them to keep their own cash longer while it earns interest. - If you Google “Firmenich and lawsuit” that should give you some sort of an idea of what you’re in for. There are lots of lawsuits and these are just the people that can afford a lawyer and aren’t too scared to sue. There is a history of harassment. I personally experienced that and racist comments as well. There is a huge lack of diversity there so it's not surprising. - Perfumery is filled with bullies and toxic leadership. They say management reflects leadership and that is true. They promote her friends who don’t actually do any work or produce results. It’s a cause of low morale and it’s all everyone talks about. There is an unequal division of work. Some people work many hours while some just coast. If the head likes you, she will make sure you get promoted without having to do work. There are too many people in power positions that have behaviorial issues. They are mean and not the brightest but they get to make all the decisions even if it doesn't make sense. - Stay away from this place. It is the biggest career mistake I have ever made. If you interview, ask how long people have been there. If everyone in your group is new, it's a huge red flag.
