Cons
If you need to get your foot into a managed care company, this is the place for you. If you'd like to climb the corporate ladder, you better start looking for another job. The Company is a great company to work for. However, their pharmacy department is currently a disaster. When it comes to getting promoted A). Either they go outside the company, because they feel like no other employee is capable or B). It's because upper management likes you. It's not based on how well you do your job or how great your work ethic is. How can you pass up people with seniority, that have proved more than capable of handling a management position, for people who have barely worked for the company for a year and barely know a thing about managed care. The company survey that was conducted even displayed the department was run only on favoritism. Also, women outnumber the pharmacy department by far, but only the men are being promoted. Don't expect for any of your ideas to be heard. You suddenly find yourself becoming a robot. All you care about is meeting your productivity numbers which are nearly impossible to meet and if you don't, you fear getting fired. You're not allowed to take any breaks except the one mandated by law and are expected to work over 10 hour days because of the mandated OT. If you don't work OT, you're not a team player. There is absolutely no work / life balance. Management also has a habit of misinforming people when they're hiring. You come in thinking you'll be doing one thing (which was discussed at your interview) and they force you into doing something else. Don't think about calling out sick, if you do, you're automatically on managements bad list. They don't care if you have an emergency or have doctor's notes. Get in, get your experience and then get out. There is no long term stability here. There is high turn around and forget about any promotions especially if you're a woman. Expect to go into work unhappy and unsatisfied everyday.
