Pros
Each office was franchised which means that the owner was on site. This was extremely beneficial because decisions regarding changing a particular process or procedure could be made immediately. But, we also had the support structure of a corporation which allowed us to handle the hundreds of employees we placed with ease. There was a small staff, so all accomplishments were felt and praised by the entire team. The work environment was positive and fast paced; there was never a dull moment. At times, the work was so fast paced that an entire work day would fly by. Overall, I really loved working at Express.
Cons
There was room for advancement, but at a very slow pace- and it may require moving to a different location in order to make any real advancements. My particular branch was family owned, so some of the staff were members of the owner's family. At times, this made for an uncomfortable work environment because it was difficult to point out mistakes in a tactful manner. The hours were also not ideal for a "night person". 7am to 4pm was usually a little too early for me. There were also almost no opportunities for overtime, even when it was warranted.
