Pros

Small team with lots of corporate support. Plenty of opportunity to explore various topics (PSM, reliability, operations, controls, project management, construction management). Everyone is very friendly and it really feels like we’re all on one team. PTO is unmatched in the area. No work phones means once you leave work, you really do leave work.

Cons

Lots of bureaucracy when decisions need to be made beyond the site level. The German management micromanages at a level that was shocking when I first joined. Operations will always be second to German R&D, if there are budget cuts, the plants see it first. Procurement is comically inefficient and will delay projects by months for no discernible reason. Engineering is a dead end unless you are willing to move to the big sites. Most engineers end up switching to buisness as a result.

Pros

Pay is good, bonuses are low, benefits have decreased every year Lunch in cafeteria is great Shift relief time was good, had enough time after work to be with family We sure miss Bonnie out there , she’s great.

Cons

Micromanaging - Extreme lack of trust Overall morale for the whole site is way down starting from 2018 Bias Backstabbing Incompetency - certain employees promoted to next level without actually knowing or understanding the process No work life balance, we’re told that doesn’t apply to production workers. Overtime hours avg 400-700 hours a year No room for employee growth or thoughts on process productivity/troubleshooting acknowledged if you’re not in the clique 3-2-2-3 shift schedule swapping from nights to day each time led to overall fatigue. Needs to be 2 weeks of nights and 2 weeks of days. HR is an overall joke, they used to be superb until COVID and the new site manager. Preach safety but turn a blind eye when it’s convenient to reach production. Then fault the operators or maintenance personnel if something happens.
