Pros

Pay is always on time. Clean environment. Full access to the centres facilities. Range of career options. Great way to build customer service skills in all areas.

Cons

No Bank Holidays, Bank Holiday Pay or a day in lieu, either you work for normal wage or book it off from your own holiday time. Super cliquey; if you're not with the 'in' crowd, staff will make you uncomfortable. Duty Managers are also very cliquey so can't approach them about any issues. No actual work benefits beyond free access to facilities and small discount for food and beverages. Shifts are erratic if you arent given contracted hours and perform a specific role.

Pros

Large company with options to relocate around the country, if you wanted to. Very good with health and safety procedures, majority of processes ready to be implemented.

Cons

Very sales driven. Targets, KPIs and profits are prioritised over colleagues and members. Sales team expected to give up personal time on end of month. You're expected to check and respond to emails when you're off or on annual leave. The company is very clique, you don't really progress unless you know someone in a senior role. Salary is always advertised as 'competitive' however, the pay doesn't justify the work you're required to do, or the extra time you work without pay. It's frown upon to claim for time worked outside of your contracted hours. There is no such thing as work life balance: you're expected to work day all the time and not be paid for it.
