Pros
High standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and attitude. I appreciate working for a company that cares how we appear to the client and general public. We take pride in ourselves and it shows through our food, and customer interactions and experiences. There is a solid structure for food cost, recipes, and themed programs, but I have never been discouraged from being creative or innovative with food or marketing. The pay grades are fair and there is a structure on furthering my education and advancing my career which I am taking full advantage of.
Cons
it really depends on the market. I work in an area of New England surrounded by many small towns and cities. We don't have any problems with coverage or retention. I have heard the more remote the location, the harder it is to get time off as a manager because someone has to cover you if you are in a small unit, and because we screen it's not always easy to get labor. We get good people that way, but they are few and far between in the more remote locales. The insurance is pretty good, but still pretty expensive for copays and deductibles.
