Pros

Strong Learning Environment: Exposure to enterprise-grade systems, security frameworks, and compliance-driven operations. Great place to deepen skills in cloud, infrastructure, and data security. Supportive Leadership: Managers are approachable and open to new ideas. Good culture for those who want to take initiative. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Opportunities to work closely with InfoSec, Infrastructure, Application, and DC operations teams. Process Maturity: Stable processes and documentation practices that help in smooth project execution. Work-Life Balance: Compared to many financial/tech firms, work pressure is reasonable and manageable. Growth Opportunities: If you take ownership, you get visibility and strong internal career growth.

Cons

Decision-Making Can Be Slow: Due to compliance and approval layers, certain technical changes take longer. Legacy Systems: Some environments still rely on older technologies, which may slow modernization efforts. Dependency on External Vendors: Can lead to delays in delivery and operational bottlenecks. Limited Innovation Pace: Implementing new tools or technologies sometimes requires long approval cycles.

Pros

My direct manager. Comp plan if you’re lucky enough to find several whale clients, and if you’re lucky, the commission is approved.

Cons

There are a lot. First, office politics. Equifax expects employees to be very corporate and robotic. Metrics metrics metrics. 100% focused on revenue, not customers. Metrics, metrics, metrics. PIP overuse. Even when you’re 150% to yearly plan 6mo in, they expect 300%. Make sure to keep receipts. Senior management will find the most ridiculous ways to push reps out, continently right before a huge payout of a very delayed commission plan. (Sell something in Jan 2025, you will only get a fraction of commission until June 26). That’s if the exception committee approves payout (which never happens). If you sell a big deal, don’t expect to get paid 100% of what the plan says.
