Pros

- If you work the right hours you get a lot of down time to do hw, study, watch netflix or whatever it is you want to do. I've worked shifts where all I've had to do is answer a handful of phone calls over the course of 2-4 hours. - $9/hr base pay - relatively easy job - customer service background is great

Cons

- There is training, but most of what I learned about tech and trouble shooting was on the fly. - Morning shifts: the office opens 1 hour before campus, which means 7 am shifts sometimes - some of the technicians can be very confrontational and irritated by student employees, making them unapproachable. - some of the student staff are boarder-line useless at their jobs -

Very good resources for new faculty. Good culture. Amazing, motivated students.

Cons

Experiences vary by home department. If you aren't one of the major priorities, you are overlooked and under-resourced.
