Pros
Generally everyone gets along well and is supportive of each other. People promoted from within are usually good at their job because they understand the work culture. When caseloads are in the 40s, the job is doable. Lots of training and opportunities to be promoted or move laterally.
Cons
-Terrible at hiring outside management. I think I have seen more upper management fired than quit. The people they hire from the outside are frequently terrible and don't last long. I wish I was joking.
-The organization is a mess. They talk constantly about productivity as though it's our fault it's not met. But other than face to face time with clients, most of our paperwork is non-billable. And there is a ton of paperwork, plus clients no show constantly.
-You are never made to feel special. HR is very clear that everyone is just a peg that can be replaced in a week.
-Occasionally they pull some very shady stuff. If you feel you are being treated unfairly, reach out to the county or the BBS. It's the fastest way to see improvement.
