Pros

Front desk staff, actually most of the hotel staff was cool. Very nice people. The cookies are great. They feed you on your shift.

Cons

The rooms are so run down you are always apologizing and comping people. There’s specific rooms where it smells like sewage or certain sections of the hotel where hot water can’t really Get to unless you run water on that side for hours....yes hours. It can be embarrassing to talk to guest after guest after guest about it. Also there’s this weird problem with logins and programs. Only during my last week there did I get 3/4 of my logins and security key. A big one, Hilton if you can take anything away from this, please do not train employees but sitting them in front of a computer with “lessons” that will literally take over 40 hours to complete. It’s hard to focus and keep your eyes from getting tired, etc. train employees by having them go out on the floor and shadowing. What happens is, people complete said programs and then maybe for another week can shadow but if they don’t have all the tools they need to assist the guest(ie: passwords, program access, and security clearance) they will fail and it’s scary for the employee who wants to do their job. Again embarrassing.

Pros

Benefits and employee meals were great. My team and people I worked with was the reason I stayed.

Cons

Leadership doesn't value or support their managers. Just be prepared to receive little support from corporate and a company as a whole. They don't want operations managers to succeed and rather run through options creating instability for their employees. Expectations constantly change. Favortism runs through departments that starts from the top (GM). Worst experience of my life was deciding to become a manager. Also as a operations manager they don't care about work life balance or if your working over 10 hours. Get use to long hours in operations with no support or help.
