Pros

Good benefits, insurance + 401k. Given the proper drive and ability to follow DG guidelines and apply yourself to them, promotions/raises can be acheived fairly quickly.

Cons

Unfortunately, there's lots of stress imposed on all employees. Lack of communication between senior management members and lower management/sales associates is also a serious issue, and many managers seem to not want to stick to DG guidelines and the SOP.

Pros

The job itself is easy. The cash register, stocking (especially the totes and dry truck) and cleaning are so simple however there are certain things that make it difficult, although the work itself is not (under the right circumstances.)

Cons

They never have enough people on shift so it’s always difficult to get things done. It seems like all the managers I know from the store I worked at and the surrounding ones are all so deep into drama it made me wonder if I was back in high school. Dry truck always seems to bring far too much and the stores are so little that overstock is a huge issue here. The reason I ultimately left was due to severe mistreatment and some safety concerns I had regarding some past experiences. I am very glad I left and I would not ever go back.
