Pros

Good work life balance. As an engineer can duck below 40 hours of work a week or work remote majority of time if you want. Good IT spending on software and equipment. Good funding for engineering test equipment if you can make a case for the need. The chaos of Dexcom lends itself to good job security!

Cons

Very chaotic. Many projects are driven by project managers who are simply marching to deadlines. Process steps are designed without critical specifications or in many cases even proper documentation because again: deadlines. One can raise concerns but these are brushed off if timelines do not line up. Very frequently the rushed project will come screaming back needing to be redone with proper documentation/specs/operating window however at an even more frantic pace. So many times projects that could have been done properly if given time, but take three times as long and four times the effort due to rushing & corner cutting. It is very to enter the office and find that everything is "on fire". Get prepared for 30-40 people zoom calls, where most participants are idea generators and only 2-3 "do'ers". Many many hand offs and many groups operating independently lead to a very chaotic and stressful work environment. Dexcom is not a good environment for new engineers to learn how to become a successful engineer.
