Pros
Dell encourages cross functional movement and the ability to try out different areas of the company. If you are looking to build broad general management skills, this is a good place. You have to own your career path, and senior leaders are very willing to mentor you through the process. Dell has a good global brand and footprint and can provide you opportunities for international experiences as well.
Cons
Management (starting from the CEO down) doesnt make people a priority. There is no identifiable strategy or culture that is communicated clearly to the employees. The answer for everything is a re-org and it can lead to a series of very frustrating and unproductive exercises. There is no consistent process for accountability and promotion, so you have to find a way to constantly market yourself to move up. Introverted people will struggle with this. Dell used to be innovative and disruptive but lately has been following the "me too" strategy.
