Pros
You get to try on pretty dresses.
Cons
I was at David's bridal for less than one month. During my interview process I told them how important it was for me to have a work life balance. They all agreed that it's very possible I even got on glass door to read the reviews where they also told me a work life balance is important to the company. So after I accepted the offer I found out that I had a 5 week training course out of town. I have children so leaving town for 5 weeks is completely unreasonable. After being employed with them for a short period of time I also found out there is this thing called bridal Christmas. During bridal Christmas a store manager does not get any weekends off at all for 4 months. They also send out a schedule they expect you to work that is unrealistic if you have children. You will be unable to pick them up from daycare and you will need to find additional sitters to take care of them until you can get home late into the evening. I wondered why they preached a work life balance if they did not actually follow that. At my 1st corporate meeting the DMs told all of the managers to get on to glass door and boost the reviews and leave something positive so that they could fill positions. I feel completely lied to. Instead of telling me what the job is really like they lied to me in order for me to accept a position so they could fill the store manager role. And all the reviews I read on glass door I realized were all fake. Everything manager I talked to at that corporate meeting had nothing but badd things to say. I left in 3 weeks and found a company that truly does believe in a work life balance. I couldn't be happier in my decision to leave. For a company that employs women as a majority they sure do not understand the needs of one.
