Pros

I applied to David's on a whim. I actually wanted to work at a different bridal salon but figured I'd look online anyway. Interview process was very easy. There were two interviews, one with the assistant manager and then the general manager. I was also hired during the summer, which I guess is rare for David's bridal? Here's what I love about the job: I have great co-workers. There are a few new hires I can tell won't last long, but for the most part I like my co-workers, even the managers. I LOVE helping women find their dream dress. It is such an important event in their lives and I think it's great to be a part of that experience. I love being around such beautiful dresses too. The merchandise is gorgeous and is well made. Most people would think the quality is not so good, but that is not the case. Good quality dresses!

Cons

Where to start... The thing I hate the most is the pay. Minimum wage plus commission? No thanks. I think I've made commission a few times during my employment. You're supposed to sell $150 an hour to get the lowest percent of commission, that rarely happens. It's such an unpredictable job. You never know when someone will buy a dress or not, sure you can try to pressure them but that doesn't get very far with some people. You're definitely going to want to get another job, I did. I work two jobs, one because I enjoy it (David's) and one because I need to pay the bills. David's salary definitely doesn't do it. Say bye bye to your social life! You need to work weekends, even Sundays. Nights are also a must if you expect to work here long. If you're a student like I am, be prepared to have all your friends text you saying "I miss you!" because you'll never see them again. Work and school will consume all of your time. I absolutely hate having to clean the store at the end of the night also. I spend my entire day carrying those extremely heavy dresses and don't want to be vacuuming and scrubbing toilets at the end of the day. It's too much strain on the body. Something I hate for the customers is that there aren't many samples in plus sizes. I hate having to disappoint brides with only three dresses they can try on. The look of sadness on their faces is just heart wrenching. In short, I'm only here for the happiness I can bring to people, not for the money.

Fun place to work and nice to be apart of something bigger.

Cons

Total revolving door for employees, managers and everything else. No commission and store is worn down along with systems.
