Pros
Sometimes really get to feel like your job matters and that you're making a difference in kids' lives. I genuinely bonded with many of my students, and am still in contact with them today. Virtually all of the issues I have with this job related to upper management, and I actually loved working with these children!
Cons
For the tiny stipend you are given, this organization expects an incredibly large amount of your time, especially considering many employees are young and poor; my coworkers and myself were typically right out of college or even high school and had a very difficult time surviving on such a small stipend. The conditions I personally was put under did not correspond virtually at all with the training I received, and I often felt unsafe in my work environment.
