Pros

Good benefits: holidays plus possibility to buy 5 additional days of holiday, pension, medical cover

Cons

If you have parenting responsibility, or are a woman, expect to be discriminated... you will be on the front line when it comes to make employee redundant. Empathy from managers is very very poor or inexistant. Diversity is only a facade. I saw many women being made redundant in 2024. And many more may leave Citi in the near future. Also very difficult to communicate with HR. After many years there, I resigned recently...

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
