Pros

Reputable company-looks good on your resume. A few years before the company started to decline, they had a good work life balance system (6 1/2 day Fridays or 3 whole day Fridays in the summer, birthday off, shopping day in winter). Depending on your department, managers encouraged professional development.

Cons

Extremely political. At the top, promotions based on who is in the clique. Citi has a "throw you under the bus type of culture." Depending on the department you are in, it could be a dead end area where there is no room for advancement or growth. Senior managers at times take all of the credit for the work being done without acknowledging the ones who are processing the work, ie, "the work horses." Senior managers have no real sense of acknowledging true talent in the company.

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
