Pros

Not as stressful as people perceived. Working hours are highly dependent on your role. Mobility is really good, especially for those who wants global transition.

Cons

Pay is not the same to JP Morgan or many other banks. Sometime it feels like your future/pay/raise/job is dependent on how the senior view the business that year. When time is good, they cut cost less, and time is bad, they REALLY cut cost. Don't expect ridiculous bonus either. Certain function you will see kids fresh out of college with 2 years of experience getting automatic promotion to Vice President. and at others function you see people with 7 years of work experience, from great colleges, work on much serious role, only then promote to VP. It's a big big organization, these things happen really often

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
