Pros

- experience - learn teller systems - float in the area - get your foot into retail banking. - learn sales - good benefits - make sure to have your headshot photo. - network and learn how to refer

Cons

- you need a good mentor - accept criticism - it’s difficult to learn when you don’t learn from the right people - have to be in the company for years and years before you are promoted and they will make you do the job of 5 people without the official title which impacts you in the long run. - it is a hybrid role. You are expected to perform. - the sales and referral metrics makes sense for the branch but you have to include the personal bankers.

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
