Pros

Good pay and benefits, lots of vacation days and holidays so I can take many trips. If you get the right role and manager, the job is awesome. Lots of opportunities to learn new technologies and skills and take classes for free.

Cons

Tampa traffic sucks, and since most roles are hybrid it's a headache to go back and forth. Some coworkers complain of hustle culture. I haven't experienced it myself (except maybe the first couple of years out of school), but almost every person I talk to seems to complain about it. Maybe I just got lucky with my current role. Also there's layoffs that can happen with little to no warning, There's been several times I've seen coworkers and team members let go and thought I would be next.

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
