Pros
advanced services is an amazing organization. lots of skill and great opportunity. encouraging management and good direction. low overhead. overall, cisco encourages public transport, vacation, live/work separation, good work ethic. outside the US, things are much more fun, competitive, and rewarding overall.
Cons
cisco can be too big, bloated processes, large middle management and people barrier between meaningful accomplishments and progress. management is not very strong or supportive across the board. recognition is often next to nothing. namely/especially within technical/customer support. high-level and older techs can be very rigid in their opinions and steam roll others, especially customers surprising. men... HR and workplace management are really cutting costs and getting rid of employee perks. coffee and building quality are awful in US, however things like that are amazing in australia, for instance. product development and management teams are not very equivalent either. some just plain suck. company lost focus and direction with consumer and non-networking related products/services. they are starting to get back on track though.
