Pros
- 9/80 schedule - very "soft" atmosphere - lot's and lot's of friendly and interested people, enthusiastic about welcoming new people - big international company, many places to (potentially) go
Cons
- Chevron is not an oil (or energy) company, but a "safety" company first. Your willingness to occupy yourself with insane levels of safety and compliance has a big impact on your potential to promote. Therefore often (though not always of course) people without real talents or good work ethic will promote to management positions as they find this a perfect environment to excell in. Needless to say this not an ideal situation, for the company on itself, as well as for more talented people. - They talk the talk, but not always walk the walk (in terms of compensation, vacation, etc...) - Pretty full of themselves, sometimes you feel like you're in some weird cult that tries to control every facet of your life.
