Pros

Work hours are somewhat flexible. Can make a decent living if your a good tech with the right office staff and management.

Cons

Lack of good general managers. Motivated estimators with strong work ethic are few and far between. Been in this market for 15+ years, in the industry for over 30. Favoritism occurs regularly with how the work is handed out. Many of the shops in this market are forced to use old, outdated, and more often than not, faulty broken equipment. One big thing that doesn’t sit well with me is how employees whom are in the National Guard or Reserve military are treated. If your in either one and thinking of going to work for Caliber think hard before you do. “Do the right thing” is just a market ploy. If I was to do a post repair inspection on every job done at Caliber in this market half would not pass. “Get it done as quick as possible with as little as possible” is what they really want. I’ll be leaving Caliber very soon.

Pros

Benefits are good. Some effort for consistency. I like staying busy and there is almost always something to do. Some people are nice.

Cons

I really wanted to like this company. It’s very corporate. It’s very involved. There is a lot of micromanagement. People really do act like they’re your friends and they are absolutely not. It’s hard to work somewhere for so much of your time where you truly can’t let your guard down or get too close. Everyone talks between shops, centers, regions, etc. There’s a lot of gossip throughout the company and even if you don’t think it goes somewhere, it does. It doesn’t matter if you are good at your job or a good person because they don’t care about that here. You can be entirely awful to people here and keep your job for years! I suppose that con is actually a pro because it makes it very difficult for someone to actually get fired from this company.
