Pros
CVS is one of the most profitable companies in the USA. They are well respected throughout the retail industry. Their stock is strong and if given the opportunity to purchase with company discount I would do so. As corporate is always looking for ways to cut expenses and increase profits.
Cons
As a Store Manager you no longer have a quality of life. The expectation is to be available 7 days a week and you are expected to work between 50 and 60 hours every week. Even when you put those type of hours in, your District Manager does not appreciate the time and effort that you are putting in. District Managers only care about themselves, have poor communication skills, put you on performance reviews at the drop of a hat and only follow up on said reviews when it is convenient for them, rather than as stated when performance review is administered. Company has put a greater emphasis on customer service scorecards over the past year than ever before. Problem is that these scores are not true scores. When only 10 out of 4000 customers take a survey, you are no getting a realistic score. There are many Managers out there who have figured out a way to cheat on these surveys and more who have not. Those who have figured out a way to cheat are treated like gold because they are making their District Manager look good. Those who are struggling are constantly hearing how they are not doing their job properly and how there are plenty of people out there who are looking to take their job.
