Pros
Pay is decent There are no other pros The program is trying to make me write 20 words but there are no other pros!!!! None.
Cons
Have to do things that have nothing to do with being an NP (lots of admin duties) Constant oversight, limited scope of practice and chart reviews do not allow you to practice to the full extent of your education. I do not feel like I should have to explain to upper management "why" I gave someone an antibiotic. Patients are rude and demanding and do not respect you as a medical professional You work alone and can get bombarded with multiple patients at once and they are rude and impatient because they have to wait Have to do DOT physicals and almost none of the patients have their forms filled out prior to coming and the exams are extremely time consuming The company needs to provide the NP with HELP! There should be a person checking in the patients and a tech to help!!! It's unreasonable to expect the NP to do everything for the visit from start to finish! Health insurance plan is terrible with very high deductibles and high monthly premiums
