Beware. Not a good place to work. - Project Engineer CH2M Employee Review

Pros

CH2MHILL is a world-wide company with many offices. They are involved with many kinds of projects in lots of places. There are some great people that work for CH2MHILL. It can be a decent place to work as long as you have a billable project number. Company may pay you overtime hourly if you have greater than 40 hours per week of client-billable work.

Cons

Horrible management of the company and employees. No communication or even attempt at sharing information in this massive company. Management does not care about the little people who are actually the ones that bring in the money to pay for all the upper level and admin staff that exist on overhead. Very top-heavy with management and I'm not sure what they all do. Make sure you cover your back always at CH2MHILL. Doesn't matter how long you work there, there is no return loyalty. Management will not help keep you busy, billable, or even care if you can't get 40 hours per week. But they will take your vacation time or just not pay you, even if you are "salaried". Their definition of salary is not industry standard and of course benefits the company and hurts the employee. Don't believe the "ethical company" statements.

Pros

Vision and mission, benefits, interesting projects, offices...

Cons

I66 Management is ridiculous. A PM who has absolutely no idea - he's not even an engineer - and a business manager who has been continuously described by the client as incompetent and useless. It weighs heavy on me to hear the client saying " is this really ch2m?"
