Pros
Work-life balance, good benefits package (not including salary).
Cons
Where to start. CAE has gone downhill since the L3/Link acquisition; constant budget issues, toxic culture, and constant competition and bickering between sites, regardless of “One CAE.” Low wages not up to market averages and it is very difficult to advance within unless you have a higher-up relative…plenty of subtle nepotism within the company. Minuscule, if any, merit raises. Mass layoffs 2-3 times per year. Plenty of times office supplies were not able to be purchased, yet the executive office has a $500/month beverage machine and a fully-stocked refrigerator that never runs out. Regular company-sponsored outings for these folks, as well. Unless you are applying as an executive or upper-management, don’t waste your time. You might be woo’d by their highly competitive benefits package, but “unlimited” PTO and a biannual “employee appreciation event” doesn’t pay the mortgage. Not sure if CAE will be CAE much longer, especially with a recent securities fraud lawsuit.
