- Closing shifts may go up until 1 am, which makes it hard for those who rely on buses - Sometimes they fill management positions with people who lack proper management skills - The crew seating area is quite small and doesn’t have much space for staff belongings. When employees come in with bags or personal items, there often isn’t a proper designated area to store them, so people usually end up finding or making their own space wherever they can. - The drive-thru has a timer that tracks how long each car spends at the window, so there’s constant pressure to keep service moving quickly. It can become stressful and exhausting when several delivery orders come in at once, especially during short-staffed shifts. - Don’t expect upper management to regularly check in on how you’re doing or whether you need assistance. In many situations, you have to advocate for yourself and communicate when you need support. This can be especially important when working with someone who is still adjusting to a new management role and may not yet be confident in recognizing when staff need help. Once I wondered why I saw new management eating shortly after they started their shift when my area was busy. They could have helped expedite an order so the customer received their food faster but nope.I was juggling taking orders, collecting payment AND expediting food. If I was working one the last customer in line, fine, but not cool when their are multiple cars in drive thru to prepare orders for. Could have definitely used an extra set of hands to contribute in preparing the customer's order. I should have said something at the time but for some reason I didn't. Please note this con applies to one particular manager not necessarily all managers have been like this. And advice for management in the next box moreso applies to one or some managers not necessarily all managers.
